LUNCH BREAK
"Eya!"
I got startled when someone suddenly said my name from behind me. I'm currently walking towards the benches in the school. When I looked behind me, I saw Lory coming closer to me.
"Lory, it's you!"
Her face looked like she was sulking while biting her lower lip, she even had her arms crossed.
"You didn't tell me."
"What?"
"That Cross is your boyfriend!"
I nearly fell from where I'm standing from being shocked with what she said, how did that reach Lory? It was just this morning and it's only lunch time right now! Seriously! How annoying, everyone here in the school has been glaring at me since earlier, specially the girls in here! If looks could kill, I might be in a coffin already.
"He's not my boyfriend!"
"Don't worry Eya, I'm okay with it. I can't say I'm not hurt that my best friend is the girlfriend of the person I like, but I won't be mad at you. I can't do anything about it... I guess I'll just be happy for you guys."
She suddenly hugged me. I removed her arms around me and held her shoulders.
"Wait Lory, he really isn't my boyfriend! Whatever you've heard, it's not true."
"But they said that Cross himself announced it in his classroom, you were even there too from what I've heard."
"Argh, I'm getting annoyed. He's so infuriating. Seriously!"
"Ha?"
"You see, he only did to have his obsessed psycho fans swarm me. More like that, I think. Believe me, he's really not my boyfriend, that guy would like an ugly person like me and that I would like an obnoxious monster like him? We hate each other a lot so how will he my boyfriend?"
"Eh?" Lory was confused. "Then if that's the case, what's with you guys? I mean, are you friends or what? Why do you know each other?"
"Friends?" I felt like throwing up from that thought. "Did you not hear what I said? We hate each other! Fine, I'll tell you the truth but please keep this as a secret. It's only between us, okay?"
I went close to her ears, covered my mouth and whispered, "I'm his personal maid."
"WHAT?!" I quickly covered her mouth when she screamed out loud.
"Shh! Don't be loud."
I decided to tell her so that she can be convinced that Cross isn't really my boyfriend because I don't want her to think stuff against me because she likes Cross, right? Even if I can't understand what he likes about that monster. And I think there's no harm in telling Lory, I think I can trust her, after all she's my knight in shining skirt.
"You are his--- what?"
I quietly repeated, "personal maid."
"Why?"
I told her all the details and she understood it at the end. It took quite a long time because she had a lot of questions so we went to the benches and ate the lunches that she prepared while talking.
"It must be really great to be his personal maid," she said dreamily. "If I am to be his personal maid, I'll be the happiest person in this world."
"I swear to you, you're out of your mind if you say such things. I'd rather go to war than work for that Cross."
"Is he that spoiled?"
"He's very very annoying. He's always hitting a nerve."
"Oh, but you're working with him. Why won't you quiet then? Is the need really that bad? I can pay your rents if you want."
I also told her earlier about me not having anywhere to live at that's why I'm working at the Sandford house.
"Oh gosh, don't mind it, Lory. I'll feel embarrassed if you're going to pay for my rent."
I was even waving my hands around as a sign of NO.
"I don't want to depend on others, I can handle this. Thanks for the help anyway."
"Oh I see, but if you need help, I'm here, okay? Don't be shy with me, what are friends for, right?"
I smiled at her, "Thanks, Lory."
I went to my next class after we finished eating. The moment I stepped inside the classroom, I was met with my classmates whispering loudly. Even if they aren't saying any name, it's obvious that it was me I was talking about because they were looking at me even as I sat on my chair.
"According to my research, her family has witch ancestry."
"Ooh, really? That's frightening."
"I know. And did you know, I researched that her great grandmother is a powerful witch. Legendary, they said."
Really, huh? Where did they even research that? Google? At Nonsense.com? Psh. They're really abnormal.
"Well, it's obvious from her face that she has a paranormal background."
"Ssh! What are you doing? Don't be too loud or she'll hear you, she might curse you."
Don't be loud? I can clearly hear you all. I'll really curse you and change your mouths to a horse's.
"Really, I wonder what magic formula that witch used to make Prince Cross say that she's his girlfriend?"
Seriously, that shameless Cross. I suddenly because a witch in the whole campus with what he said. Freaking hell. I just placed my head on my table because of how pissed I was getting from all of their absurd stories. Magic formula? Witches? Monsters? What are they, elementary?
"What? What is he doing here?"
"Don't tell me he's also after her?"
"Nah uh!"
I don't know what commotion suddenly appeared, I just kept my head on the table and didn't care about what was happening in the classroom.
"Good afternoon sleepyhead!"
My hand was suddenly pulled so I sat up and when I looked around I saw Chad's smiling face.
"C-Chad! What are you doing here?"
"Come with me, Peppy!"
"H-ha? Wait, Chad!"
I stood up from my chair because he suddenly pulled me, I kept on calling and asking him about where he's bringing me, because he continued to pull me while going outside the classroom and the corridors.
"Chad, wait a second! Where are we even going?"
He turned his head to me and smiled but he still kept on pulling me.
"Just because... I need your help."
"Ha? What just because? What help? The bell already rang, my teacher's about to arrive!"
"Let's cut class!"
"Ha? Are you crazy? Cutting? Hey, I don't know that!"
"Don't worry, it's just for today! It wouldn't hurt to do it just once and besides, we're in college already. Attendance aren't important as long as you have passing grades!"
He kept on laughing while he was saying that. Uwaaa. What is Chad planning? HEY KIDS, DO NOT COPY THIS, YOU'LL BE IN TROUBLE WITH YOUR PARENTS AND WOULDN'T GET ANY ALLOWANCE!
